So for the past year i’ve been looking into buying a pistol.  My friend Ammon, who owns the largest collection of guns i’ve ever seen on a single man who doesn’t own a house of his own home, suggestion the Springfield XD to me last summer.  So i’ve been reading up and checking around for the past year or so, and yesterday i bought one.

I had a Sig Sauer 226 9mm when I was 17.  I had just seen Resovoir Dogs for the first time and in my adolecence i HAD to own a pistol right then.  Funny i remember walking around walmart with my friend Josh talking about how i wanted to own a gun right after that.  Anyway i convinced my dad as my 17th birthday present to get me a pistol if i paid half.  So I paid 250 dollars and got this sweet gun.  It was beautiful. Here is the gun i used to have.

While I was in Guatemala my father sold it out from under me.  Not quite sure why I wasn’t more upset about it…but it really didn’t bother me at the moment. 

At any rate. 

Here’s my new gun.

There are those who will critize my owning a 9mm instead of a .40 or a .45. with all kinds of objections..but my aim isn’t to actually kill anyone.   I’ve actually heard that 9mm were designed with that purpose in mind, to be non-lethal bullets.  Counter intuitive??  maybe.  But i’m thinking getting shot once is enough to get someone to stop what they are doing.

Now if it comes to a high-noon gun battle.  I’m sure i’m dead anyway.
